A Christmas Dream
Date: December 23rd, 2006, Filed under Gold Investment
With so much going on in the Dada homes, it has been an intriguing year of business with a dearth of free time. I have no love for the weeks that turn into months because of hard labor, but my most recent labors have been labors of love — the kind of love I envision is as unexpecting and unfulfilling as possible for myself. I often times believe that the best love on can give another is the kind of love that goes unnoticed — offering someone a gain without them realizing that the gain has come, and also without realizing where it came from. While it isn’t capitalistic, necessarily, there is still a gain of pride that one can help another person without them knowing it. Paying for your neighbor’s electric bill — your very neighbor who is in debt but has taken the time to make his home pretty for the holidays. Producing a gift card for the local grocery story for the family of 6 living down the road who you know can not afford a plentiful Christmas meal. Shoveling the snow from the ground of the elderly when they’re still asleep. There are many ways to offer others something of yourself without being obvious about it. But that isn’t my Christmas dream — that is just what I do believe we should all do throughout the year for others.

You’ve been friends a long time, why won’t she date you?
Date: December 21st, 2006, Filed under Uncategorized, Be a Man
It is lately the most popular search topic that finds this site — and one of the most common questions I get asked by men I know who just can’t seem to convert a girl they like into a girl who likes them. Sometimes a guy will have been friends with a girl for months or years, and continue to wonder why she never showed interest in him. I get asked that a lot — “how can I make her love me?” The answer, unfortunately, is that you can’t.

Terry “Tank” Johnson — unarmed?
Date: December 20th, 2006, Filed under Anarcho-capitalism
Following the story of Bears players Terry ‘Tank’ Johnson and his episode with getting his defensive weapons taken from him by the Gurnee Police department, new news from the other day[1] has Terry’s security guard murdered in a nightclub that Tank was at. A security guard is there to protect famous people — our very own President has them (armed), the Mayor of Chicago has them (armed), the Governor of Illinois has them (armed) but Terry Johnson is not allowed to have an armed security guard in the City of Chicago, nor in the Village of Gurnee. Why is it that politicians have the right to protect themselves but individuals don’t?

Be A Man Q&A: Do short guys have problems dating?
Date: December 15th, 2006, Filed under Be a Man
It’s a common question, and also a very common search phrase at Google — do short guys have a problem dating? It would seem so, according to some statistical websites, such as the Short Person Support site.1 The site shows some interesting statistics — women seem to prefer taller guys. That site says that 8% of women who are 5′6″ would choose a shorter guy, and 13% of women 5′8″ woudl choose a shorter guy. But I know these statistics are wrong — I’m a shorter man (5′7″) and I definitely haven’t had problems dating. In reality, it isn’t the height of the man that is the problem, it is the attitude that comes along with most men, tall or short. While women may THINK they won’t date a short man (or a shorter man), in reality most women just won’t date an unconfident man. Why is it that short guys tend to not have confidence? Maybe they were raised with a fear that women won’t date them! It is a viscious circle — shorter guys fear that they won’t have luck with a certain woman, and their lack of confidence ends up showing that to be true. This leads that woman to believe she doesn’t like the guy because of his height, instead of realizing that he’s just not confident.

The Incomplete Constitution: Terry “Tank” Johnson
Date: December 15th, 2006, Filed under Anarcho-capitalism
It is all over the news here in Chicagoland this morning (and late last night): Terry Tank Johnson is arrested for gun ownership. He lives about 2 miles from me, and from what I can tell, this is not just non-news, but a violent criminal act of the Gurnee police department. Unfortunately, the law does not look at it this way.
The Constitution of the United States is incomplete as any non-binding document could be. Its purpose was to restrict government — all government — of trampling basic, inherent rights of the people — all people, including citizens, residents, immigrants and foreigners here and abroad. The Constitution says that Congress may make no law infringing on the right to bear arms. Unfortunately, it really does not go into detail on what that means for individual States and townships.
