Teen Curfew Laws — a “solution” without a problem?
Date: May 30th, 2006, Filed under Anarcho-capitalism
I’ve been doing more research on the Buffalo, NY region and its share of problems created by decades of overbearing local government, and I came across another OpEd regarding the Buffalo/Rochestor region and a law enacted to try to solve a problem that doesn’t seem to exist: the problem with teens being out after dark. Adam McFadden, member of the Rochestor City Council, has an OpEd article in the Democrat and Chronicle titled Is curfew remedy for teen crime?. If there is anything that frustrates me about women more than any single thing, it is their lack of communicating things that are important to men. Marketing 101: The Business Card
Date: May 30th, 2006, Filed under Entrepreneurship
In all my years of being a businessman, I have always had unique and memorable business cards. I think that the uniqueness of the cards has been a benefit when even those who didn’t do business with me kept my cards handy just to show them off. Before cards were available so cheaply online, I focused on cards that weren’t flashy or outrageous — they were just appealing. Rarely did I design them myself or print them myself, though, I paid professionals to do their jobs. Read this entire article at the Be the Boss site.
Housing Bubble News, May 30, 2006
Date: May 30th, 2006, Filed under Housing Bubble
The Suffolk News-Herald has an interesting OpEd today titled Housing woes.1 The writer, Andy Prutsok, has good insight in the supply-and-demand situation that has created the rise of prices across every market in the U.S. There are those who say there is no housing bubble, and I actually tend to agree with them — prices are higher, but only because the dollar is worth less. Yet the big problem in high home prices is not the price of the house, but the ability of people to pay for their home. If the dollar should fall, we might see prices in other areas go up much faster than our wages do, which could cause many defaults and foreclosures. Both bring about price falls no matter what the money supply is doing (usually getting worth less). Read this entire article at the housing bubble site.
